Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem.
Praise be to Allah Almighty, peace and blessings be upon our beloved Rasul (Messenger) Muhammad and his companions and those who followed him, Amma ba’d...

Question : I listened the whole lecture (Fiqh of Gradual Progression) except for the last 4 or 5 minutes..
Alhamdulillah every topic was explained nicely…
But sometimes the people practicing innovation unknowingly do not want to listen to our words...They remain stick to what they learnt from their elders…
In this case if we want to explain nicely about their innovation, things get a little bit difficult, as they think we do not have such Islamic background to tell them what is innovation and what is not...And it is true that we do not have such background...
So they do not want to rely on our words and they even don't try to look for evidence whether it is in the Sunnah or not...In this situation what should be our approach?.
Ibtesam : Jazakillahu khaira for such sincere feedbacks dear sister, barakallahu feeki...
(1) Regarding what they think that we do not have such Islamic background...In this case we always have to REFER to the Ulama/Fuqaha i.e.
who reached a Scholarly level and are experts in their respective fields and that their opinions are BASED on DALEEL.

So, we should NOT refer to ourselves or any physician or engineer or their books/lectures in such case.

(2) Along with making them KNOW that those Scholars are more learned and knowledgeable from those innovator local Imams whom they are blindly trusting in! Then ask them to compare both side's educational qualificationetc.
as well, exactly what they do while searching for an expert doctor.

(3) Also try to use a mild passive language in a waythat suits their interests, educational background etc.
as well.
(4) Allah – ‘azza wa jall – inspired us to conduct da’wah works with Hikmah (wisdom) saying :
﴿ ادْعُ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ ۖ وَجَادِلْهُم بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ ﴾ [النحل : 125]
“Invite to the way of your Lord with Hikmah (wisdom) and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best.” [An-Nahl : 125]

(5) We should speak out WHEN it is really needed, NOT like what many think that keeping quiet is an ultimate Hikmah (wisdom)in all cases; no, there is NO constant ruling as such, in some cases Hikmah is to keep quiet and in some other cases Hikmah is to speak out.

“He gives Hikmah (wisdom) to whom He wills, and whoever has been given Hikmah (wisdom) has certainly been given much good.
And none will remember except those of understanding” [Al-Baqarah : 269]

Allah knows best.
